When working 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, (or even more or less), you can probably imagine that your head and eyes can get pretty tired of all screens in front of you, especially when you are running a blog too. Especially when it gets darker outside, I can notice that my eyes get tired pretty quick when looking at screens.
This is mostly caused by the blue light of your screen, which can make your eyes tired but it also -for example- makes it harder to sleep, especially when you look a lot at your sreens before going to bed. Therefore, Polette launched a special line of glasses called E-polette. The E-polette glasses have a special light-yellow filter, which filter 40% of all blue light. This means that your eyes are more relaxed and that your day/night rhythm is better.
Polette gave me the chance to choose a nice pair of E-polette glasses so I could try them myself. I chose this pretty burgundy version called e-olivia. The glasses have a nice dark red color and are made out of plastic, so they are light weight, which is really nice. I have worn the glasses a couple of times now and I can really notice the yellow-ish filter, since the world around me becomes a bit ‘warmer’.
However, I don’t think I would wear the glasses a lot. My eyes are not great and I wear contact lenses during day time, since I don’t want to wear glasses all day long. So wearing another pair of glasses is not really what I want, and applications like Flux on my MacBook and nightshift on my iPhone can do the same for me. I also think it’s not useful when I’m at home at night, since I’m wearing my glasses at home and two pairs of glasses on my nose is not my favorite thing.. ;)
However, the effect of the glasses is really good and I think it’s a pretty good solution! I might bring them to work, so I can wear them at work when my eyes get tired, especially when it’s getting dark.
So, I think the glasses are a good solution for me at work, but not at home, which is okay for me. If you’re experiencing head aches etc. because of spending a lot of time in front of screens or if you’re just looking for a nice eye protecting product, I would definitely recommend to try a pair of these glasses!
Have you ever heard of these glasses before? And would you wear them?
